How to add your RIPs
- When you are happy with a RIP you have made, choose the appropriate page above based on the webpage or domain name for which your RIP is intended.
- Click on the 'Edit this page' button on that page (upper left).
- Copy the Webpage/Domain "template" at the top of the page and paste it at the appropriate (alphabetized) place in the list on that page.
- Delete any portions of the template that are not needed and fill out the rest.
- To add the query/queries directly:
- Open your RIP options and select the RIP.
- Choose 'Edit XPath...' for each of the queries in the RIP, copying and pasting the queries into the wiki page in the "XPath query/queries" section.
- Enclose the entire list of queries within verbatim tags. For example, <verbatim>XPath Query</verbatim>.
- To add the rip file itself:
- Open your RIP options and select the RIP.
- Choose "Export Rip..." and save the file. There is no need to give it an .xml extension. The .rip extension will work just fine.
- In PBwiki, choose "Upload Files" at the top of the editing box (this should open a separate tab/window).
- Browse for the file and upload it.
- Copy the URL of the uploaded file.
- Return to the previous tab/window where you were editing and paste the URL in the "Download" section.
- Choose 'Update' to save your changes. You're done--thanks for contributing!
You can also access the uploaded files from any regular page by choosing the "Files" link at the top of the page.
Please note that when you choose to edit a page, the page is locked while you are editing. You can maintain the lock without the possibility of it being taken from you for 15 minutes. If you decide not to edit the page, please choose 'Cancel' so that others can then edit the page.
Oh, and please think before you rip something. In the case of advertisements, occasionally you're talking about somebody's livelihood... There's a big difference between an ad frame, table, etc. that you've been putting up with for years and never found useful--just annoying--and, say, an unobtrusive content-relevant text ad that you have at least occasionally found surprisingly intriguing. Just something to consider.
